    Greetings to all.

Can somebody let the forum know whether Don Polye has beeen re-appointed minister for Civil aviation and Trade that he relinguished when he lost the court of disputed returns.

The people of Kandep have spoken and the PM should give his ministry back to avoid policy and manpower changes which is a norm in PNG politics. A new minister means new cronies and lost of sight of the department's vision that is if they have one, otherwise it is an ad hoc situation since independence.

Though I am a fore of Don, I believe he has two years to show and tell, he should be given his former ministry and the Highland's regional NA leadership. I know James Marabe who is of equal quality I suppose to Don but Don deserves a second time round.

For those of us who were against Don, we have lost and there has got to be a winner and that is Don so we must support him if we really want to see our district moving forward. Come 2012 I will be definitely looking forward to defeating Don Polye but right now I will support him if his policies are right and going to benefit Kandep.

    Wertlander,

Belated Happy and a Propsperous New Year -2010 to you.

For your infor and others, Don Pomb Polye has retained his Ministries of Works, Transport and Civil Aviation. I see Prime Minister Chief Somare has a lot of confidence in Don Polye despite some stiff oppossitions from within NA Camp and others.
I agree we should put aside our political differences for the timing to help develop Kandep, Enga and PNG, thereby giving incumbent Don time to concerntrate in delivering services than being entangled in court cases and disturbances before 2012.
For now, I think the result of the by election has proven beyond doubt he has been truely mandated by the people of Kandep in 2007 and not what many say and think. But in 2012 everyone has the right to contest against anyone including Don.

    KBK Wetlander,

I think I like your last paragraph. That's the matured way of thinking and bringing Kandep forward. Grew up there as a small boy and haven't been back since but stories from friends is that it needs to be uplifted. If its true that K37 Million is still at stake, then, guys, lets face Polye with our well structured development agendas (documented) and see what he can say.

I read thru the Dailies that he want to change the mindset of Kandepeans. I don't know what he meant but it might be a invitation for rivals to work with him for the remaining two years. We can still put our hands up comes 2012 because by then, none is a MP. Everyone is regarded as candidates so be it.

FYI, Polye's ministerial portfolios have been given back. Somare knows that Polye worked smartly to bring in the K2 billion grant money for fixing the roads, mainly in the highlands. From what i heard, Enga and SHP will be prioritised, then Hagen, Simbu with the rest of the provinces.

Furthermore, there are some interesting developments within NA party so lets wait and see. Paul Tienstan has been sacked for breaching (soft) party policies or maybe something relating to the PAC and finance Inquiry. Blame game will happen soon. There are more to come. Sorry for off-tracking but thought it is worth sharing for everyone's knowlege on whats happening at national level too.

Figures crossed, Marape will give back his leadership at next NA convention in Jimi this year. Marape is his small brother. Also Marape was the Vice Minister, works, civil and transport before he was given the current ministerial portfolio so no doubt he will hand over the leadership. Sam Abel was consciously voted out by fellow engan MPs for this particular reason. With respect, sapos em holim, he will not relinquish the leadership!!!
